Brand Overview

Selling almost 2 million units with $88 million in sales the POWER GLOVE has been noted by the press as the “world’s first consumer virtual reality product”

Introduced by Mattel as a control accessory for the Nintendo system in 1989, along with two POWER GLOVE games, SUPER GLOVE BALL and BAD STREET BRAWLER, the POWER GLOVE created the first virtual and motion capture recognition used throughout gaming today. The POWER GLOVE has also been featured in many films and TV shows ranging from The Wizard to Minority Report.

The POWER GLOVE was the first peripheral interface controller to recreate human hand movements on a television or computer screen in real time and laid the foundation for the Wii remote controller for the Wii console.
